IELTS WT 2 (Adv&Disadv with Opinion)
Many teenagers now have their own smart phone. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this and give your own opinion.
It is no secret that many parents buy iPhones to their children, in pursuing the crucial purpose is connecting with teens, when they are located out of the home. At the same time fathers and mothers miss the essential truth that the phone turns into a toy in the hands of a child. Therefore, I believe that they distract youngsters with their studies and make them indulge in other inappropriate activities.
The main advantage is that they can stay connected with their parents. The reason for this is that with a telephone it is possible to send messages and texts in any circumstances. For instance, informing the parents when arriving a bit later from school is not a problem anymore. This way, primary caregivers will not have that feeling of anxiety. Despite this, I believe that using the phone for games will do much more harm to a teenager.
The main disadvantage of possession of the phone at the young age is that it is disturbing them from their education, and having a negative impact on the development as well as academic performance. This is because with a smartphone they can visit social media sites. For example, a lot of the students are spending most of their time on those sites, rather than focusing themselves on their study. In other words, it makes difficult to achieve a good rate in their subjects. Therefore, I believe that it can be negative to be an ownership of a mobile.
To conclude, although it can be positive for their parents to be in touch with children, I believe it can negatively affect their educational life, distracting the children from studying, which results in a lower rate in their achieved grades.

Many teenagers now have their own smartphone. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this and give your own opinion.
Smartphones are must-have item in person’s life at the present time and youngsters are not the exception. While phones could be used in educational process, I believe that they are addictive and could lead to unhealthy style of living.
The main advantage of having smartphone is that young people could learn fast and effortless from their house. Every teenager has the Internet on their phone, which gives them access to numerous books, forums and tutorials. Process of searching for information has tremendously improved. For example, every teenager from Asia could find a video or article about America’s whole history and learn it in one day. Despite this fact, I believe that phones encourage children to lead a very sedentary lifestyle which can lead to poor health.
Sitting with smartphone for extended periods of time means that children do very little exercise. They get distracted in a digital world with all of their social networks and videogames, which leads to obesity related diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease. For example, it is estimated by the WHO that children are now 30% more likely to be fatter than kids 30 years ago due to the fact that they now spend most of their time indoors with their phones. I believe that this makes smartphones dangerous and they should only be used in moderation.
In conclusion, although smartphones can help children in gaining knowledge, they also prevent them from getting enough exercise and they should, therefore, only be used sparingly.

Many teenagers now have their own smart phone. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this and give your own opinion.
Some argue that using cell phones by adolescents is more useful, while others think that these devices might lead to harmful effects. Although smart phones are being used for children's safety, I believe that negative effects of cellular phones disturb youngsters in study progress.
The main advantage of adapting to digital tech when a person is young is that it is convenient for safety purpose. This enables to use smart technology when teenagers are far away from home and young people can easily contact whomever they want, especially in urgent situations, by handling some apps such as Whatsapp, Chat me, Google maps and others. For example, youngsters effortlessly can share their location with their parents, make video calls, talk to each other face to face, despite the far distance. In spite of this, I believe that overconsumption of high tech might distract the youth from right educational track and can lead to poor level of knowledge.
Many youngsters overuse their smartphones during the day instead of list of chores that must be done. That is, enormous number of entertainment applications divert student’s attention to study well. Teenagers may waste time watching video or playing online games, which are time and energy consuming. For instance, it is estimated by the Nazarbayev University that young people are now 60% more likely to have worse proficiency than 30 years ago due to the fact that they now prefer to misuse smart devices rather than spending time on self-education. Therefore, I believe that usage of high tech should only be performed in moderation.
In conclusion, although smart phones are being used by many juveniles in a safety manner, they also should be prevented from burning daylight; thus, cellular phones have to be used sparingly.

Many teenagers now have their own smart phone. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this and give your own opinion.
Smart phones have become an integral part of 21st century lifestyle to the extent that children get their first smart phone in elementary school. While personal electronic devices rapidly increase types of social interactions, at the same time they drastically decrease usual, healthy ways of communication.
One evident benefit of smart phones usage is an enourmous increase in ways to communicate with each other. Teenagers, being the most active part of any society, easily catch up on these new trends, becoming the majority of users for new messengers and social networks. For example, according to Snapchat reports, 60% of its users are below 13 years old. With such a massive adoption of new ways to communicate, teenagers nowadays spend more time talking to each other even with their peers around the globe – the thing seemed impossible a mere 30 years ago.
However, the wide-spread of smart phones does not come without a cost as switching to messengers has significantly reduced regular, face-to-face ways of communication. 20 years ago it was common for kids to play on the streets all day long, run around the neighbourhood, fight with each other, collaborate and extend their social network in a natural, evolutionary defined way. But smart phones have flipped the coin by transferring almost every type of socialization online, increasing sedentary lifestyle and isolating kids from the real world challenges. According to the World Health Organization, 80% of teenagers in developed societies have health problems caused by low levels of physical activity, and smart phones play significant role in this trend.
To conclude, while smart phones might be useful in extending amount of ways for teenagers to communicate, it is crucial to pay attention to the problem of drastical decrease in healthy ways of socialization, which comes as a result of smart phones overuse.
